Aigerim is a seasoned tax professional with nearly fifteen years of experience leading high-profile tax engagements across multiple sectors, including oil & gas, logistics, real estate and finance. She began her career at KPMG in Kazakhstan in 2009, where she played a pivotal role in establishing the local M&A tax practice by streamlining reporting processes, enhancing collaboration with international offices, recruiting and mentoring staff, and leading projects in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and China. Notably, as part of the Kazakhstan delegation, she participated in tax treaty negotiations between the governments of Kazakhstan and Serbia. 

Since relocating to the United Arab Emirates in 2021, Aigerim has further broadened her global expertise by advising large multinational corporations, private equity firms, and wealth management funds on high-profile M&A transactions across the Middle East. She joins us as a former Tax Director at EY Abu Dhabi, where she led the tax advisory account for a leading UAE-based diversified energy group, overseeing deals worth over USD $5 billion. In this role, she collaborated closely with the group’s tax, investment, valuation, and legal teams to identify and communicate material deal breakers in M&A transactions, analyze SPA/SHA terms and transaction documents, review tax assumptions for financial modeling, and structure tax-efficient acquisitions and divestitures.

Aigerim is recognized for her ability to lead and mentor diverse teams, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Her expertise extends to delivering trainings on UAE corporate tax, tax structuring, and tax due diligence, both internally and externally. She has also served as a guest lecturer as part of the GCC Tax Certificate program at Middlesex University in Dubai, sharing her knowledge and insights with the next generation of tax professionals.
